The productive chain

Gommonautica rigid inflatable boats are produced in a modern factory not far from the sea in which technology and craftsmanship meet quality and innovation.

All models are rigorously built in accordance with the best Italian ship-building tradition by a team
of technicians with a long professional expertise in pneumatic components as well as in resins
and fibreglass.
Our models, all of which made in the same factory, are the result of accurate and deep study
in engineering and industrial design.

The materials

Gommonautica is a leading trademark. Indeed we use the best materials and pay the most scrupulous attention to the quality
of our models which are of a superior standard.

The rubber material, the fibre-glass hull, the rolled-in mats
and the first-choice resins as well as the fixed joints are meticulously put together.

The overall masterwork is not only aimed at security and reliability, but at an appealing design, high-quality fabrics and rich equipment. Gommonautica models are for real sea-lovers who can make
the most of a sea-fare and enjoy it to the full every time they wish.

The cutting and the assemblage

How are Gommonautica models produced?
They are notably composed of two distinguished sections: the tube, that is the pneumatic part
and the hull, nam ely the still part made of plastic reinforced by incorporated fibreglass.
Unlike the most common rubber rafts, our boats represent the utmost comfort and security in navigation. They are half-way between the most efficient rubber rafts and the most solid boats.

The rubber rough material is initially set down onto long tables
and cut, into patches which will subsequently constitute the upper side of the boat; these patches are eventually stuck together, as emery is added to the joints.
The patches get stuck through cool vulcanization.
This procedure is very important indeed as it guarantees a perfect stability to the boat. Joint parts are firstly laid one upon the other
and then reinforced with specific straps, both internal and external.

Gommonautica rigid inflatable boats are unique worldwide as they have triple-stick features upon the joints; needless to say, this confers to the boat reliability, total safety and security.

The tube

Still in the process of sticking the patches one upon the other, some insulating diaphragms are inserted inside the tube to separate the inner sections; there can be three, four, five or more inner sections depending on the dimension of the boat.
Aproper inflator is set onto every watertight compartment.
A half-sphere made of solid incorporated fibreglass - indeed a feature that is peculiar to Gommonautica Ltd - is devised as an after-peak terminal.

When the upper side of the boat is completed, the tube needs a 48-hour seasoning process before being inflated.
After the rest, the external straps are added, together with such fittings as handles, wash-boards, double fender and so forth before assembling it to the incorporated fibreglass hull.

The external longitudinal butt straps are extra-size so as to guarantee the best airtight in any environmental condition. This can be seen on Gommonautica models only. As for the afore-mentioned straps, they equally undergo a cool vulcanising process.

The hull

The hull takes its shape from specific moulds made of plastic reinforced by incorporated fibreglass.

After a strapping-wax application, some Gelcoat is sprayed in order to give colour and make the new hull utterly waterproof.

After some further six hours the hull gets dry and thick. It is then
that we proceed to tear the thickest parts of the moulds off.

The definitive compact shape represents the overall, load-bearing section of the rigid inflatable boat.

The hull is checked out and finished off, and is now ready to be assembled.
Both the tube and the hull get stuck together so as to constitute the boat as we know it.
The boat undergoes a double sticking-up process to make sure that the upper and the lower sections cannot be separated, thus making it a safety and reliable product in any condition.
Now the two sections are put together.
The boat is eventually ready for the packing and delivering.
